E46: Melting Snow & Latte Appreciation

Welcome back everybody!
Lady Jupiter Podcast is the audio accompaniment to LadyJupiter.com a lifestyle blog where I write about my family’s military life, our home life, casual fashion, and travel when possible. I’m happy that you’re here with me.
In this episode I’ll share an update on our life as affected by the U.S. military, continue with a blog update, then wrap up with my most recent domestic diversion.

Today in our military-affected lives I have nothing significant to update.
Our neighborhood finally melted! Now when Mister Jupiter goes to work I can trust that he will get there safely. The hills in our neighborhood are no joke; and if the city can’t get in here to plow or salt - you can believe that I am content to stay at home and wait it out. I actually have chains for my Prius, but I have no plans to ever use them in Arkansas.
Also, since last week I held another Zoom happy hour for the squadron spouses and like usual, it’s always nice to take a little break from the weekend to-do list and chat with friends in the afternoon. I obviously miss seeing people in person, but I am very happy to see friends and family through our assorted screens.

For today’s LadyJupiter.com update…
I just put up one or two Daily Jupiter pages - and I finally posted something I started months ago! You may have already seen it, it’s titled Public Note; re: vitamin patches. It is just what it sounds like; a detailed note about vitamin patches that I made public because I like having access to my notes on any internet-capable device. So far I have only found one patch formulation that isn’t amazing for me, and at the same time I have identified several others that I intend on using for a very long time! Link in the show notes of course, definitely give it a skim if you’re interested in transdermal supplementation or if you’re simply curious about wearing vitamins instead of ingesting them.

And now for my most recent domestic diversion
I can confirm that like stated last week, we’ve been conserving energy as requested by our utility providers. So this week’s domestic diversions have been even more minimal than usual.
Most of the day I am hands-on with my toddler. We recently found out that Doctor Who is back on Amazon Prime, so I’m making sure that he knows what a TARDIS sounds like, and otherwise I lightly shop and research things while enjoying Murray Gold and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
Besides buying another Rocketbook (a “Fusion” this time - affiliate link in the show notes), I am looking at a handheld hydro-facial device, and a fancy toothbrush. I don’t require either to survive (PS - I already own a toothbrush), but I like trying new things. Besides, earlier this month I asked only for one thing this Valentine’s Day -a triple-shot breve pistachio latte- and we got snowed-in instead, so I feel that treating myself to a new personal care device is justified.
📌Rocketbook Fusion

For the record, enough snow melted the other day that I could safely exit our neighborhood. The Kid and I ran errands and I almost forgot how much I missed driving! Starbucks was the first stop, and my triple-shot breve pistachio latte was better than I expected. Then we picked up our curbside groceries and ran through Sonic Drive-In on the way back home. When I pulled up to the house I saw a surprise package on the porch because UPS could safely climb these hills too. Normal life never felt so sweet.

And that’s it for today!
