Episode 27: Waiting on the Senate & Writing Reviews

Welcome back everybody!
Lady Jupiter Podcast is the audio accompaniment to LadyJupiter.com a lifestyle blog where I write about my family’s military life, home stuff, my low maintenance beauty and fashion, and travel when possible. I’m happy that you’re here with me.
Today I’ll share an update on our life as affected by the U.S. military, continue with a blog update, then wrap up with my most recent domestic diversion.

Today in our military affected lives I have nothing significant to update.
We’re still waiting on the Senate to approve the next round of promotions, so we don’t know exactly when Mister Jupiter promotes, but we do know that it will be sooner than others…but that’s true of all promotions.

For today’s LadyJupiter.com update…
I wrote a fresh Picks of the Week post, it’s travel related, № 40. I really like these short posts and anticipate many more to come. Since I only talk about five things each time, I don’t feel any pressure to write something long, and it’s easier for me to get excited about little things
Picks of the Week № 40

Otherwise I also updated this season’s Outfits of the Day post, and put up my Intermittent Fasting update. So the updates are minimal but they’re there.

Intermittent Fasting, Month Ten

I’m thinking about waking up earlier so I can write more…but I’m a night owl to the core and I have difficulty even saying that I want to wake early because I know that means that I’ll need to go to bed before midnight…regularly. So my usual conflict remains - I have reason to do something one way, but every fiber of my being is pulling me the opposite direction.

And now for my most recent domestic diversion
I’ve been avoiding folding the laundry by writing reviews on Amazon again. I realized the other day that my ranking dropped pretty far, I’m down between 8,000 and 9,000 now - I used to be in the top 1,000 ranked reviewers! So I’m having fun writing reviews again just to boost my own ranking.
I like seeing my reviews on the front page of various products, and seeing my annotated photos first - otherwise higher ranking doesn’t affect anything else. Well, it increases the number of sellers who email me to test their products, but I don’t do that. I really do pay for everything I review because I only buy what we want and need. Granted - that’s a wide range, but I would rather write about reusable shopping bags that I super love than write about a memory card adaptor that I didn’t need. So far I’ve quickly cranked out eight reviews, all purchased recently like Kid Jupiter’s bike trailer, and my favorite flexible red and infrared wrap.

Otherwise I’m trying to get more donations out the door this month. I have a growing collection of clothes that I don’t need. They range from professional clothes that I haven’t worn in about three years, to pants without usable pockets (recently declared illegal in my closet), to shirts that collect abnormal amounts of dog fur - so much that I spend more time removing fur than I spend time wearing said shirt - so those must go. I also have bundles of cardboard and glass to recycle. Our municipality doesn’t recycle glass anymore, so I take our glass to our Air Force Base instead of throwing it all away.

And that’s it for today’s show!
