Episode 18 of Lady Jupiter Podcast confirms that we have a little upcoming stability in our military lives. I also detail some blog updates, talk more about cooking in what little time I have to myself, then commit to double checking some prices at Starbucks. These things are important - promise!

Episode Eighteen: Photography Trouble & Undereye Pigmentation

Welcome back everybody!Lady Jupiter Podcast is the audio accompaniment to LadyJupiter.com a lifestyle blog where I write about my family’s military life, home stuff, my low maintenance beauty and fashion, and travel when possible. I’m happy that you’re here with me.
Today I’ll share an update on our life as affected by the U.S. military, follow on with a blog update, then wrap up with my most recent domestic diversion.

Today in our military affected lives I have nothing significant to update.
We officially learned that Mister Jupiter is on list that we expected. I won’t go into full details, because that’s not what this podcast is about, but I’ll certainly say that he is a candidate for a certain job. It is very exciting, but we have some insight on our future, and can make some accurate predictions.
This simply means that we know what’s coming up next. We very probably won’t be moving for a few years, and we will both very probably have more gray hairs when we do move. Despite sounding gloomy, this is actually good! To be a military family and maybe kind of know what’s going to happen next is a valuable piece of stability that we don’t often have.

For today’s LadyJupiter.com blog talk…
I have some tiny updates! Since we last spoke I added new photos to Picks of the Week No. 30, and new photos on Outfits of the Day Summer 2020. I made sure that they were vertical images, not just squares. Why? Because I still occasionally promote myself in a few groups on Tailwind.com - that blogger promotion site that I first spoke about in Episode 15, and these groups are super-picky about images being vertical, regardless of actual image quality or spelling errors. I kind of want to walk away from Tailwind (because I generally don’t care for it) but sometimes more popular bloggers share my content from Tailwind, and that’s good for me…so I have trouble (apparently) with leaving a service that only sparks joy…ten percent of the time I sit down to work on LadyJupiter.com. Maybe I’ll let it go for my next birthday!

And now for my most recent domestic diversion
Things are pretty much the same. Instead of folding laundry or writing out show notes, I am often cooking, meal planning, or trying to write. I have over 40 new blog posts that are drafted, and all in need of final editing, reference links, or photos.
Photos are the factor that holds most things back. Having the right light when I have the time doesn’t happen often; maybe once a week for 20 minutes. The best time for me to take photos for LadyJupiter.com is during Kid Jupiter’s afternoon nap. But this is the same time that I have to shower, make any phone calls, do my volunteer job, and if we’re having a complex meal - I start cooking. So again - I am busy cooking. But, despite the time consuming nature, I love it. Cooking is fun, it’s calming, it’s interesting, and almost always tastes great! For the record I avoid all processed food, so I am happy to make all sorts of things from scratch to avoid vegetable oils, corn and soy, dyes, plus all of those creepy additives that give processed items their long lives or keeps them soft.
Cooking aside, I’ve been spending my scant time adding supplements to a secret Amazon.com wish list for future purchase. I do a lot of miscellaneous reading in bed and if I find something good when I should be sleeping I add it to said secret wish list so I can read about it again later, then go on to sleep. I’ve been reading about products to correct (but not conceal) facial hyperpigmentation. I have normal fleshy colored skin, but the puffy bits under my eyes have a bit of deep plum just under the skin. It doesn’t bother me as much as it used to, but I would like my face to be one color (minus the freckles - they can stay because they’re not purple). So far I have actually had a little success with this serum by Eva Naturals. I ONLY use it under my eyes where I need it, and try to use a hydrogel eye patch immediately afterwards to help the product soak in. I’ve only been using it for about a week, but I can see a little lightening after certain eye patches. I don’t know yet if it’s permanent, or something that I need to use forever just to control the color, but we’ll see. My simple goal is to get rid of the purple because it makes me look old and tired when I am actually refreshed and only 36. Links in the show notes and episode description! I specify the description because I write fresh episode descriptions as the episodes upload, versus the show notes on ladyjupiterpodcast.wordpress.com that take weeks to write (again, it’s not hard to do, but it takes time that I don’t have).

And that’s it for today’s show!
Show notes and transcript will be available eventually on LadyJupiter.com/podcast - scroll down to the link for Episode Eighteen.
Big shout out to Patreon patron Chris! His monthly support keeps the lights on at LadyJupiter.com, and Lady Jupiter Podcast. His support is the equivalent cost to a latte on the first, so if you too can spare $4, then you too can help me a latte with your patronage. I'll personally thank you on air just like I thank Chris, and know that the few dollars really do help. Patreon.com.LadyJupiter. Both tiers are under ten dollars. One costs about a normal grande latte, the other is closer to a triple shot breve latte with one pump of vanilla. I’ll need to pop into my nearest drive thru to double check pricing, but you get the idea.

Regardless, I’ll be back on the 15th to talk to you about a fresh batch of stuff. Bye!
