Episode thirteen talks about the only COVID-19 test in the Jupiter House, plus a quick chat about my intermittent fasting, and increased treadmill use because a humid 100° Fahrenheit (or 37° Celsius) is too hot for nice walks.

Episode Thirteen: No COVID, Yes Treadmill

Welcome back everybody!
Lady Jupiter Podcast is the audio accompaniment to LadyJupiter.com a lifestyle blog where I write about my family’s military life, also travel, home stuff, and my low maintenance beauty and fashion. I’m happy that you’re here with me.
Today I’ll share an update on our life as affected by the military, follow on with a blog update, then wrap up with my most recent domestic diversion.

Today in our military affected lives I have nothing significant to update.
Mr. Jupiter has a work trip coming up soon, and to keep everybody as safe as possible, everyone who is going on this trip must test negative for COVID-19 before departure. So he got a rapid test a few days ago, the kind where they swab the back of your throat via sinus cavity, and it came back negative. We didn’t think he was asymptomatic or otherwise unwell, but it was nice having a confirmed negative in the house! Myself and Kid Jupiter remain in good health and have not been tested.
I’m still erring on the side of caution though and staying in more than being out, and not shopping in public. I get curbside groceries twice a week - mostly milk, diapers, frozen veggies, and pantry items. We have one subscription for beef and pork, a seasonal subscription for seafood, and now I’m looking at an ugly vegetable subscription. Despite all these wonderful options, I still dearly miss our milk man. Yes - we had a milk man when we lived in Leavenworth, Kansas and it was wonderful. Instead of a curbside pickup, they delivered our order to the insulated box on our porch. We got eggs, bacon, and milk each week. Every other week I would also get pizza, local jams, or unpasteurized orange juice. So if you’re listening and moving soon to Fort Leavenworth - I highly recommend you check out Shatto (spelled s-h-a-t-t-o) and make sure that you live within their delivery radius - your tastebuds will thank you!

For today’s LadyJupiter.com blog talk…
As anticipated I have only made one new post since last week. The new post is my most recent update about intermittent fasting. If you haven’t tried to have lunch with me this year, you may not know that I have been eating only dinner. I know the words sound extreme to some people, but it really isn’t. I am eating whatever I want every day, the only difference is that I am not eating all day. Eating in a smaller defined window was the missing piece of the puzzle to me losing baby weight, I’ve been fasting since December and love it. I’m happy that I’ve jumped into this way of life. With or without weight loss, fasting makes me feel great and the idea of eating three meals a day again just makes me feel lethargic and fuzzy. No thank you - at least, not regularly. I do eat lunch here and there, but only when I can nap later because eating in the middle of the day makes me super sleepy - always has!
Otherwise I am taking photos of my leather jackets for a future blog post, but wondering if all-bathroom photos is too repetitive and boring. I would rather have less staged photos, but that’s impossible with all social events cancelled…besides, my dogs still refuse to pick up the camera when I ask for candid photos during the day. I think they confuse taking photos in general with taking selfies. They don’t want to be in the photos so they steer clear. Or maybe it’s because they really are dogs and simply can’t remove the lens cover.

And now for my most recent domestic diversion
I’ve been spending my potential laundry folding time on the treadmill. I like walking, but haven’t walked outside much lately because its too hot for afternoon walks right now. So I’m incline walking on our treadmill instead. (ProForm treadmill, 2016 model)
It’s in our TV room, which is also Kid Jupiter’s play room, and the guest room. Today I hopped on twice, each for 15 minutes. The first time Kid Jupiter was obsessed for the first six minutes. Either trying to defy the baby fence, or throwing toys onto the tread. He eventually got bored and entertained himself, but it was stressful. My second hop-on was during a nap, so I was able to walk faster and listen to a podcast. (Baby fence link)
When the world becomes more normal again, I might scoot that treadmill out of that guest room so that I can walk while we have guests staying with us. Regardless, I need to keep hopping on said treadmill to walk uphill for at least 15 minutes every day. At least until I can walk our neighborhood’s actual hills without getting a heatstroke.

And that’s it for today’s show!
