Episode № 90 is a brief check-in after two slow weeks. No particular changes today either; no PCS news, no time for new blog posts, and I'm still waiting on a coffee order.

Episode № 90 Disappointing Decaf (but not why you think)

Welcome back everybody!
Lady Jupiter Podcast is the audio accompaniment to LadyJupiter.com a lifestyle blog where I write about my family’s military life, our home life, and other tiny details that I just like to share. I’m happy that you’re here with me.

In this episode I’ll share an update on our life as affected by the U.S. military, then continue with a blog update, and wrap up with something domestic.

Today in our military-affected lives I have nothing significant to update.

We still don’t know where we’re moving next summer. That’s on track with my personal expectations.

For today’s LadyJupiter.com update… the site is still up and running. Which is also on track with my personal expectations.

And lastly something domestic.

I just wanted to share one tiny thing that has not met my personal expectations.

Williams-Sonoma. The Little Rock location closed earlier this year, which has complicated my Nespresso pod purchase habits.  Their flavored Nespresso pods are delicious, and they make the best vanilla - so Williams-Sonoma has been my preferred source of any flavored coffee pods. Originally I just wanted to order the pods online, but according to the website, they were local purchase only. At first this was annoying, but Kid Jupiter and I made it a nice habit. Every few months we would drive down to Williams-Sonoma to buy the coffee pods, and we would visit the same few shops in that shopping center so I could justify the drive. We would stroll Container Store, maybe grab a Starbucks latte, maybe grab a burger from Big Orange. I started looking forward to our regular coffee pod errand.

Then the store closed suddenly, and on cue, my Nespresso pods needed replenishing. So I look online, and now I can buy the pods since I don’t have a local store. Okay, that works. I bought my usual order - vanilla, decaf, and any flavors that catch my eye (I grabbed one box each of hazelnut and salted caramel). The flavored pods all arrived the next week and we survived the narrow gap without any vanilla pods in the house. But the decaf pods were back ordered - it was on the order page, but I missed it. That’s okay - we’ll just wait. Well I checked my order earlier today, and the decaf coffee pods are still back ordered. Now they are due to ship in November. I ordered them in July. This does not meet my expectations. We miss having the occasional evening decaf after dinner. And now we’re finally forced to try other brands for a palatable decaffeinated Nespresso pod.

So this is where I am asking you to share your favorite decaf coffee. I finally bought an AeroPress, so I can make single servings with ground coffee. And for the record - our Nespresso machine takes the original line small pods. Hell, I’m open to instant coffee crystals too.

You can publicly share your favorite decaf with me on Facebook - at facebook.com/ladyjupiterdotcom or you can privately email me your suggestion - podcast@ladyjupiter.com.
