Episode № 73 No time for creativity

Welcome back everybody!
Lady Jupiter Podcast is the audio accompaniment to LadyJupiter.com a lifestyle blog where I write about my family’s military life, our home life, and other tiny details that I just like to share. I’m happy that you’re here with me.

In this episode I’ll share an update on our life as affected by the U.S. military, then continue with a blog update, then I’ll catch you up on the duck that adopted us; Darlene.

Today in our military-affected lives I have nothing significant to update.

We are still watching Ukraine.

Since we last talked I got one box of clothing donations sent out to our local thrift shop on base. Since I am trying to downsize my closet as much as I can right now, I did visit container store for some bins. I got one that was bigger than I intended, so it might be the backpack bin, because we always seem to have too many backpacks that just get dusty and musty, might as well put them all in one place.
Anyway, downsizing the closet is some thing that I just like doing.

For today’s LadyJupiter.com update…still no particular updates.

Kid Jupiter isn’t napping anymore, so my free time is at an all time low. And it really sucks.
LadyJupiter.com is not going to get archived, and I’m still paying for everything, I just don’t have computer time anymore. Expect more unpredictable gaps in podcast releases too. I don’t have time to record, edit, and upload like I used to.

And a check-in on Darlene, I am proud to announce that Darlene and her 13 sweet little fluffy baby ducklings have vacated the roost, and they are out in the world living their best lives.

If you’ve been watching the updates on Facebook, you saw one photo where we realized that eggs were hatching, and then another photo where eight of the ducks were pointed out and each named.
It really was a lot of fun that day. The morning started with teeny tiny chirps, and only two visible wet wads. And by bedtime there were 13 fluffy little ducklings.

At 8am the next morning Darlene told the kids to pack up and start marching, and that’s what they did. We were all home, but she didn’t give us any warning about when she was going to leave. Then separately Mister Jupiter and I took turns walking or driving the most obvious route to nearby water in the neighborhood. We were just looking for any stray ducklings, and neither one of us found any. So we are forced to assume that Darlene and all of her kids successfully made it to water while the neighborhood was napping.

We really hope that she roosts with us again next year. If she does, I am going to get one or two signs to put in the garden, and I might even set up another external camera near her spot! I absolutely want more ducklings in our yard next year.

If you want to see photos, swing by Facebook.com/LadyJupiterDOTCOM . I still have a photo that I want to share, but I haven’t uploaded it yet because I can’t do that when my kid is awake…which is all of the time now.

And that’s it for today’s episode.
