Episode № 66: Watching Ukraine 🇺🇦

Welcome back everybody!
Lady Jupiter Podcast is the audio accompaniment to LadyJupiter.com a lifestyle blog where I write about my family’s military life, our home life, and other tiny details that I just like to share. I’m happy that you’re here with me.

In this episode I’ll share an update on our life as affected by the U.S. military, then continue with a blog update, and wrap up with my most recent domestic diversion.

Today in our military-affected lives I have nothing significant to update.

We’re still watching Ukraine - just like the rest of the world. Same emphasis on the same words as last episode (which, if you missed it) was specific attention to “we” and “watching” meaning that Mister Jupiter is home, and he’s not involved.

He did finally make it out to Japan though! Mister Jupiter has been trying to fly out there since spring 2020, and finally made it. It was a quick trip, only three sleeps I think before coming back? It was good overall, he got a great photo of Fujisan and got Kid Jupiter a little Gundam action figure (in addition to the actual work he did). As soon as I finish recording, I’m going to have a little bird - the exterior is a thin toasted bread, and the interior is mung bean paste. It’s rich and lightly sweet, perfect with a cup of green tea or a hot coffee.

For today’s LadyJupiter.com update…I’ve updated Outfits of the Day Q1 as expected, and started the Pizza and Beer Yearbook that I mentioned a few episodes back.

That recent food documentation reminded me of more articles that I want to write but haven’t been able to draft in ten months.
I’ll talk more about those ideas maybe later when I have recording time again.

And now for my most recent domestic diversion…the dryer is full of clean clothes as usual. It’s a different batch from last episode at least, so that’s nice. Life is the domestic diversion. I’m trying for the thirtieth time this year to prioritize sleep, so my available time for non-life threatening chores has again gone out the window.

And a follow up from last episode - I finally texted Kim! Granted, it was in response to a text that she sent, but the intent was the same! I am happy that I finally wished her a happy birthday and I was able to wish it before the next one rolls around.

But don’t get the mistaken idea that I have things together, or that I’m not massively overwhelmed each day. I’m two hundred and five miles (205mi) over due for an oil change in my Prius. Ever since the maintenance light came on I either don’t remember to make an appointment, it’s snowing and exiting our steep hill isn’t safe, or I’m driving the Tesla. Don’t worry though, I’m not fully reckless. I’m not low on oil at all, and my Prius uses high mileage synthetic fluids anyway - I can go hundreds more miles without service, but I want to pop in sooner than later because I’m still paying that car off, plus I’m not one to abuse vehicles when I can pay for maintenance. Good thing the local dealership has weekend hours for a few services. Also, it’s snowing right now. Ugh.

And that’s it for today’s episode.
